Operators teach. Consultants pitch.

The reason most Australian programs do not produce founders worth backing is that they are run by people who have never built anything. We will only ever be run by operators who have done the work.

02

Customers are proof. Funding is just promise.

Australian press reports raises and ignores revenue. We will report customer wins louder than funding rounds. A first paying ASX 300 customer is worth more than a Series A announcement.

03

Twelve weeks is not a business.

Founders do not need a graduation ceremony. They need a room to stay in. The cliff after demo day is where most companies die. We are building the room, not the cliff.

04

Corporates and startups need each other.

A decade ago, Australian corporates and startups talked. They do not anymore. The bridge has rotted. We are rebuilding it because both sides lose if we do not.

05

Build in public, or do not build at all.

Stealth is for people who do not want feedback. We will share the numbers, the wins and the failures of YBF itself. We will hold ourselves to the standard we hold our founders to.

06

One Australian scene.

Sydney versus Melbourne is a distraction. The competition is San Francisco, London, Tel Aviv, Singapore. We act like one country.

07

Stop apologising for being Australian.

Per dollar invested, Australia produces more unicorns than almost anywhere on earth. We have the talent, the tax structure and the entry prices. What we have lacked is conviction. We are done with the apology tour.

A clear no, said out loud.

If any of this resonates.
